The development at Astrop Grange for Grand Union Homes comprises of no. 10 shared ownership flats for over 55's with a communal facility for the future residents as well as existing residents living in the local area.

The scheme was to demolish the existing building because it was not economically inviable to retain the external shell of the main building and the internal configuration was not suitable for refurbishment.

Therefore, the development proposed to demolish the existing building and the construct a new Georgian style building. The building reflects the style of the original building with its portions, stonework detailing and reusing window and door surrounds of the original building.
