Fr. O'Callaghan Centre, Kingsbury Green

Completed in 2015 for the Diocese of Westminster, the Fr. O’Callaghan Centre was a new church hall for the St. Sebastian and St. Pancras RC Church in Kingsbury Green, London.

Comprising of two large church halls, complete with kitchen service and bar, the building was designed to function independently as a hall for the local community, or as part of any church function.

The main entrance was built using Welsh mined slate blocks that forms a continual wall stretching from the front elevation to the internal entrance lobby, which draws the eyes and invites you in.

Large ribbons of glass break up the building mass, allowing natural light into the large halls. The sloping mono-pitched roofs to both halls also helps to break up the mass, creating elevations that are more harmonious with the surrounding built environment.
