The development consists of the demolition of an existing care home and construction of residential apartments for people with learning disabilities, for Hightown Housing Association and Hertfordshire County Council. Extensive consulation with residents and staff led to a design which allowed construction of the new apartments whilst current residents remained in their homes until the new apartmetns wewre ready. Once the care home was redundant, new general needs housing for local people were constructed
