The scheme designed for St Albans City & District Council has been developed in a former garage sites at Langley Grove (Sandridge).
The development creates 15 dwellings in total which consists of 7 houses and 8 apartments, all affordable rented housing units.
The scheme also provides landscaped open spaces and enhances the overall value of the site.
The houses consist of 2nos 3 bed dwellings and 3nos 2 bed properties. The apartments mix, located in a two storey block, consists of 4nos 2 bed and 4nos 1 bed apartments. The houses and the apartments use similar materials but still keep their own identities.
All the buildings incorporated energy saving measures such as high level of thermal insulation, low water consumption and large glazing to reduce artificial lighting to assist with the long-term sustainability of the scheme.
The scheme was completed in 2019.
