This recently completed project for the Diocese of Westminster consisted of the demolition of the previous dark Entrance Lobby, Repository and Reconciliation room to make way for a new two storey extension to the front of Mary Immaculate & St. Gregory Catholic Church in Barnet. The extension allowed us to open up the church and create a light and  uplifting interior, with a striking street presence.

The extension has been designed to provide a clear central route from the new entrance to the front of the church to allow for more formal processions to be undertaken. The additional space also allowed for a viewing gallery as part of the new mezzanine floor to increase the capacity of the church.

As part of the design aesthetic, the existing exposed glulam structure was incorporated into the extension, to create a coherent language throughout the building.
